As far as know on the plains of Central Asia there are many cities with hundreds of architectural monuments from different epochs. Among the most famous are Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Nukus and Kokand. These cities were centers of science and art. Great architects created palaces, mosques and mausoleums, world famous monuments of ancient architecture, to memorialize Alexander the Great and Chengiz Khan. Many of these masterpieces did not survive, but by visiting those which have been preserved it is possible to glimpse the pages of the past. Your travel in Uzbekistan will be unforgettable. You will see minarets, grandiose madrassahs and mosques, palaces and mausoleums decorated with incredible ceramic tiles, noisy and colorful oriental bazaars, interesting legends, warm hospitality and the ancient traditions of local population.

Tour Schedule

Day-1 Arrival in Tashkent

You will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel. Check in and after midday start guided sightseeing tour in the capital of Uzbekistan, the biggest city in Central Asia. You will start with exploring the Old city. Visit Khast Imam complex, where the world’s oldest Koran, holy book that belonged to Caliph Uthman, has been preserved. The complex consists of Barak-khan madrasah, Tilla Sheykh mosque, Keffal Shashi and the Islamic Institute of Imam Bukhari. Continue to Chorsu bazaar. Then take a ride on Tashkent metropolitan to the city center, stroll around Amir Temur square, Independence sqaure and visit museum Applied Arts.

Day-2 Tashkent – Kokand  – Fergana

At 07:00 transfer to the train station. Take train departing to Kokand at 08:05. Arrive in Kokand at 12:00. Meet your guide and driver and start sightseeing tour in Ferhgana valley. Visit the Khudayar-khan palace, Jami mosque and Norbut biy madrasah. Visit Akhmad Al-Fergani Park in Fergana and Regional museum of Fergana.

Day-3 Fergana – Margilan – Rishtan – Tashkent

In the morning, drive from Fergana to Margilan and visit Said Akhmat Khodja madrasah. Today, madrasah is home to a number of craftsmen producing handmade carpets and silk. Have a walk on traditional market and continue to Yodgorlik silk factory to see the production process of silk with traditional Ikat patterns. If it is Thursday or Sunday, visit Kumtepa Bazaar, the largest market in Fergana Valley. Drive to Rishtan to the well-known ceramic masters  whose works are exhibited on world exhibitions. Enjoy a pottery workshop and have a look at ceramic collection in a small museum. After Rishtan return to Tashkent.

Day -4 Tashkent – Nukus

Morning flight to Nukus (1255 km). Arrive in Nukus .Visit the Savitsky Art museum. The museum hosts the world's second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art and exposition of Karakalpak applied arts items. After lunch drive to archaeological necropolis complex Mizdakhan.

Day-5  Nukus-Khiva

In the morning depart to Khiva (200 km). On the way visit archaeological monuments of Ancient Khorazm, Toprak Kala-Ayaz-Kala and Kyzil-Kala. Arrive in Khiva, check in to the hotel.

Day-6 Khiva

Spend a day in UNESCO World Heritage site in Ichan-Qala town, visit Kalta minor minaret and madrasah, Kunya Ark, Muhammad Rakhimkhan madrasah, Jome mosque, Abdullakhan Madrasah, Tosh Khovli, Kharem, Islam Khodja minaret and madrasah, Pakhlavon Makhmoud mausoleum and craft centres. . Free time in the afternoon.

Day-7 Khiva – Bukhara

In the morning depart Khiva and drive to Bukhara (480 km). The Great Silk Routes once pathed through Bukhara and Khiva ran through the Kyzyl Kum Desert.  Stop en-route to enjoy views of Amu Darya River and the desert. On the way visit Chor Bakr necropolis. Arrive in Bukhara late in the afternoon, check in to the hotel.

Day-8 Bukhara

Enjoy a walking guided sightseeing tour in Old City. 

Visit Ismail Samani mausoleum, Chashmai Ayub mausoleum, Bolo-Khauz mosque, Bukhara Ark, Poi Kalon ensemble, Ulughbek and Abudulazizkhan madrasahs, Trading domes, Magoki Attori mosque, Lyabi Khauz ensemble, Chor Minor madrasah. Dinner and national show at Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah.

Day-9  Bukhara – Nurata – Yurt Camp

In the morning depart Bukhara and drive to yurt camp located in Kyzyl Kum desert (230 km). On the way stop in Gijdivan ceramic workshop(masterclass) and Nurata town to visit a local mosque with a holy spring water. In the afternoon continue driving to yurt camp in Kyzyl Kum desert. Stop on Nurata pass to see petroglyphs. Arrive in Yurt Camp, accommodation in yurt. In the afternoon visit Aidarkul lake and camel riding . In the evening dinner near the camp fire with Kazakh akin singing folk songs.

Day-10  Yurt camp - Samarkand

In the morning depart for Samarkand (270 km). On arrival visit spectacular Registan sqaure, Guri Amir (Temurlane’s tomb). Check in to the hotel.

Day-11  Samarkand

Start your day by visiting remains of Bibi-khanum mosque, Siab bazaar, Ulughbek observatory, Shakhi-zindah necropolis.  After lunch continue sightseeing: visit Afrosiyab museum. At 18.00 depart for Tashkent by taking high speed train Afrosiyab to the capital. Arrive and check in to the hotel.
