Day-1 Arrival in Tashkent

Arrive in Tashkent. Rest in the hotel and in the afternoon sightseeing the capital of Republic of Uzbekistan. One of largest cities of post soviet republics. Start visiting old part of Tashkent, Hast Imam complex where you see the world’s oldest Koran of Caliph Uthman. In the complex visit Barak-khan madrasah, Mausoleum of Keffal Shashi, Tilla Sheikh mosque, Muyi Muborak madrasah (library) and Islamic Institute named Imam Bukhari. Later in a day visit one of the biggest bazaars of Central Asia, Chorsu bazaar , Museum of Applied Arts and finish of the day visit Independent and Amir Temur squares. And short ride on Tashkent Metropolitan.

Day-2 Tashkent – Urgench

Transfer to domestic airport, morning flight to Urgench departing at 07:15 (1093 km, 1 h 40 min). Arrival in Urgench at 9:30, transfer to the hotel in Khiva (30 km, 35 min).

After check in start visiting a UNESCO World Heritage site . In Ichan-Qala town visit Kalta minor minaret and madrasah, Kunya Ark, Muhammad Rakhimkhan madrasah, Jome mosque, Abdullakhan Madrasah, Tosh Khovli, Kharem, Islam Khodja minaret and madrasah, Pakhlavon Makhmoud mausoleum and craft centres.

Day -3 Khiva- Bukhara

After breakfast transfer to Bukhara, crossing Kyzyl Kum(Red Sand) desert (approx 7hours drive) on the way visit Chor Bakr necropolis. Arrive in Bukhara.

Day-4 Bukhara

After breakfast start visiting Bukhoro i Sharif- Blessed Bukhara which was one of the centres on Great Silk Road. Bukhara has more than 150 historical and architectural monuments, many of them enlisted in UNESCO’s world heritage.

Start sightseeing by visiting central park of Bukhara where Samanids mausoleum located then walk to Chashma i Ayub ( Job’s Spring) mausoleum, Bolo-Khauz mosque, Ark of Bukhara, Kalon mosque and minaret, Miri-Arab madrasah (still active), Ulughbek and Abdulazizkhan madrasahs.

After lunch continue by visiting Magoki-Attori mosque, Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble and finish the day by walking to neighborhood to visit Chor Minor madrasah. National dance and costume show in Nadir Devon-begi madrasah (optional).

Day-5 Bukhara

After breakfast  start second day by visiting surroundings of Bukhara, Sitorai Mokhi-Hosa – summer palace of Bukhara Emir, unique monument combining Russian and Oriental architecture. Continue to Sufi Naqishband mausoleum. Afternoon at leisure.

Day-6 Bukhara- Samarkand

Today we will be leaving for Samarkand, on the way we shall visit Vobkent Minaret (12cen), Gijdivan ceramic workshop, Imam al Bukhari mausoleum in village Khortang near Samarkand.

Arrive in Samarkand, check in to the hotel.

Day-7 Samarkand

Start your day by visiting spectacular Registan square, remains of Bibi-khanum mosque, Siab bazaar, Ulughbeg observatory and  Guri Amir (Temurlane’s tomb).  After lunch continue sightseeing: visit Afrosiab museum and ruins of ancient Samarkand (named Marakanda by Greeks) where Alexander kills Cleitus during drunken brawl and later in a day Shakhi-zindah necropolis.

Day-8 Samarkand-Dushanbe,Tajikistan

After breakfast will get on the bus and drive to Konighil village to explore traditional way of making Samarkand paper from mulberry. After visiting factory we drive to Dushanbe via Panjikent border crossing (40km from Samakand)

Lunch will be served in Djartepa border village where you can taste freshly made tandoor bread and participate in cooking national dishes, Kudokhola can teach you how make suzani (embroidery) . After lunch border crossing in to Tajikistan. In the afternoon arrive Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan. Check in to the hotel and rest before dinner.

Day-9 Dushanbe

Start sightseeing the capital of Tajikistan. Visit Botanical garden- very beautiful garden with many old trees is the favorite place of Tajik people, Tajikistan National museum of Antiquities that includes the exhibits on history, natural history and art (Buddha in Nirvana is one of the valuable exhibits of the museum), Ismail Samani, the Building of a national spirit, stroll around Rudaki prospect and the main mosque of Dushanbe.

Day-10 Dushanbe – Khujand

After breakfast depart for Khujand, drive through Anzob tunnel and through Shakhristan tunnel with a stop in Istaravshan. Visit a local bazaar and later visit Khazrat Shah architectural complex, which consists Shah’s mausoleum, Valami mausoleum and Namazgoh mosque which use to be used twice a year. Continue to Mug-tepe, one of the ancient settlement located in Ura-tube. The town is believed to be founded by king Cyrus in the north-east boundry of his empire. Arrive in Khujand. Check in to the hotel and rest before dinner.

Day-11 Khujand

 In the morning start sightseeing Khujand where Alexander established Alexandria Eschate – the Farthest by visiting museum of Regional Studies. Household utensils, armaments, building materials, numerous Hellenistic coins and pottery are exhibited. Panjshanbe bazaar, Sheikh Muslikhiddin mosque and Arbob palace. Afternoon at leisure.

 Overnight in Khujand

Day-12  Khujand-Tashkent

After breakfast transfer to Oybek border crossing point (70 km, 1 h ). As you cross the border, driver and guide will meet you on Uzbekistan side. Transfer to Tashkent (100 km, 1 h 30 min). Arrive  Tashkent and transfer to airport.
